Lithium bromide is an inorganic substance with molecular formula of LiBr. It is easily soluble in water, ethanol and ether, slightly soluble in pyridine, and soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, acetone and ethylene glycol.

 Hot lithium bromide solution can dissolve the fiber. Its aqueous solution has strong hygroscopicity, and the concentration of saturated lithium bromide aqueous solution reaches 60% at room temperature. The higher the concentration, the lower the temperature, and the stronger the hygroscopic capacity.

 It is an efficient water vapor absorber and air humidity regulator. It can be used as absorption refrigerant, hydrogen chloride remover in organic chemistry, fiber fluffing agent, hypnotic and sedative in medicine, as well as electrolyte in photosensitive industry, analytical chemical reagent and some high-energy batteries
