Chemical Properties brown fine crystalline powder and chunks
General Description Tan powder.
Air & Water Reactions Insoluble in water.
Reactivity Profile 3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. May generate hydrogen, a flammable gas, in combination with strong reducing agents such as hydrides.
Health Hazard ACUTE/CHRONIC HAZARDS: When heated to decomposition 3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole emits toxic fumes.
Fire Hazard Non-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes. Some are oxidizers and may ignite combustibles (wood, paper, oil, clothing, etc.). Contact with metals may evolve flammable hydrogen gas. Containers may explode when heated.
